Boplaas Wine Cellar
Brooding mocha-chocolate overtones, interlaced with black currant, mulberry, blue berry and plum notes - this is what wine drinkers can expect from the newly released Boplaas Tinta Chocolat 2009.
Boplaas Family Vineyards, situated in the picturesque Southern Cape village of Calitzdorp, famed as a producer of world-class Ports and table wines, has recently released the Boplaas Tinta Chocolat 2009 - a medium-bodied Tinta Barocca with a twist.

Over the past 30 years, Carel Nel - cellarmaster - noted that several of Boplaas' Tinta Barocca vineyards yielded wines with a prominent cacao flavour-profile. Using this knowledge of terrior and special oak-regime, Carel and Margaux, have created a wine that accentuates the natural chocolate and black berry profile of Boplaas Tinta Barocca.

The Boplaas Tinta Chocolat is a versatile, food-friendly, medium-bodied red wine that offers enjoyment to both wine novices and experienced wine enthusiasts alike.

Boplaas' Portuguese varietal portfolio of table wines expressing the unique Calitzdorp terrior, also include a Tinta Barocca, Touriga Naçional and Ring of Rocks Reserve blend.

This festive season, be a little adventurous and experience the decadency of Boplaas Tinta Chocolat.
