Cap Classique pioneer, Simonsig, has scooped a 2009 Gold Pack Trophy for its limited release, designer box which showcases the estate's proudly South African, Pinotage driven Méthode Cap Classique - Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé.
The winning design of this exclusive gift pack - a collaborative triumph for Shave & Gibson Group (Pty) Ltd, manufacturers of packaging and printing products and creative agency Jenisis - excelled as the overall champion in the Innovative Finishing Techniques category.

Judged by a panel of packaging and design experts, the gift pack won top honours for its quality graphics. The judges highlighted the box's exceptional finishing techniques as well as its ingenious easy-to-open and close features.

"This sophisticated gift pack, which shows off an elegant yet striking black and salmon look, epitomises style and finesse - the essence of the alluring Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé," shares Jeni Bradford of Jenisis.

As a benchmark for Cap Classiques where Pinotage dominates the blend, the latest 2007 vintage of this full-flavoured dry rosé is composed of 90% of this uniquely South African grape varietal, rounded off with a classic touch of Pinot noir (10%).

Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2007 is a lively sibling of renowned big brother Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel, South Africa's first bottle-fermented sparkling wine and champion of the 2009 WINE Magazine Amorim Cork Cap Classique Challenge.

Bubbly lovers should watch out for these limited gift boxes which will be available at leading supermarkets and wine outlets or directly from the estate during the Valentine's and Easter months only. The Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2007 and gift pack retails from R99 per set.
