The Pinotage Youth Development Academy (PYDA) develops 18-25 year old, talented, previously disadvantaged South Africans for employment in the FMCG, wine sales and marketing, digital economy, and related sectors. The curriculum is fully integrated across the value chain and combines industry-specific technical skills with in-programme workplace practical and critically, personal life skills and emotional intelligence development.
What to expect

- We believe in learning by doing. In addition to dynamic classroom sessions, you will be out there in the real world, acquiring hands-on experience through rewarding work placements.
- You will leave well-prepared for the professional world and ready to thrive in all aspects of life.
Requirements
- Self-motivation to improve your life and make a difference in society
- You are between the ages of 18 and 25
- Valid South African ID
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- Good communication skills in in English
- Currently unemployed or in casual/seasonal/temporary employment
- Ability to commute to our Stellenbosch campus on a daily basis
- Being from an historically disadvantaged community
- Ability to demonstrate financial need
- Ability to commit yourself to full-time formal learning for an entire year
