Clara's Barn, the Bertus Basson restaurant on Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate, has come on board the Rosé Rocks wine competition as facilities sponsor.

Headed by award winning chef, Drikus Brink, Clara’s Barn will provide the competition with a full range of facilities for the competition. These include the judges blind-tasting set-up, pouring staff, logistics, glassware and chill facilities and general back-up.

"This is the first time in 10 years of the competition that we will have moved out of Cape Town CBD," commented Eamon McLoughlin, the competition convenor. "It has always been important for us to work closely with restaurants to run the competition, as they are the best platform to showcase the best that the South African wine industry has to offer.

"We’re delighted to be working with Bertus and Drikus in Clara’s Barn."

Rosé Rocks is South Africa’s first and only wine competition dedicated to the growing rosé wine category. Now in its 10th year, Rosé Rocks was founded in 2015, together with Allan Mullins, and it seeks to recognise excellence in rosé winemaking and promote the South African Rosé Wine category.

This year it will be headed up by judges Kelly-Marie Jacobs of Distell and Praisy Dlamini of Adama Wines.

The entry deadline is 9 October, with judging on 17 October. The results will be announced during week commencing 22 October 2024. Entry is via online or with an EFT.
