Wine Enthusiast has included Rust en Vrede's restaurant in its list of “57 Best Winery Restaurants in the World for 2026”, alongside just two other South African restaurants. The list brings together destinations from some of the world’s leading wine regions, recognising restaurants where the food, wine and setting all form part of a complete experience.
For nearly 20 years, the Rust en Vrede Restaurant has been part of our Estate’s story. Housed in the historic 1780 original Cape Dutch Cellar and led by Chef Fabio Daniel, the restaurant continues to build on its foundations, maintaining a close relationship with the wines of the Estate.
This relationship is something highlighted by Wine Enthusiast, noting the “Experience Menu”, which is custom-designed for the diner and paired with some of our rarest bottles.
For us, the recognition is a welcome moment that reflects the restaurant’s ongoing focus on bringing together food, wine and the character of Rust en Vrede in a way that feels distinctly its own. Being included among 57 winery restaurants from around the world, and one of only three from South Africa, is a proud acknowledgement of what the team continues to build here.
