Alto Wine Estate is proud to announce outstanding recognition at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards, with two of its wines receiving gold medals and exceptional scores from the international judging panel.

Leading the accolades is the iconic Alto Rouge 2024, which achieved an impressive 96 points. Judges praised the wine for its layers of liquorice, dark berries and violets, underpinned by a rich Black Forest gâteau character, well-defined tannins and a voluptuous texture.

Joining this success is the Alto M.P.H.S. 2022, the estate’s limited-release flagship blend, which was awarded 95 points. The judges commended its harmony and elegance, highlighting notes of red and black cherries, bergamot, and orange rind, together with a silky texture and fine-grained tannins.

These remarkable achievements reflect Alto’s unwavering commitment to excellence and the dedication, passion and craftsmanship that define every bottle produced at the estate.

“We are incredibly proud of these results, which are a testament to the pursuit of quality that has long been synonymous with Alto,” said Bertho van der Westhuizen, Alto Winemaker.

Congratulations to Bertho van der Westhuizen and the entire cellar team on this exceptional achievement, further cementing Alto’s reputation for producing wines of distinction and enduring character.
