Stellenbosch Reserve is incredibly proud to share that the Stellenbosch Reserve Hangbrug Chenin Blanc 2025 has been awarded Best in Show at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards, earning an exceptional 97-point score.
Not only is this one of the highest accolades awarded by Decanter, but Hangbrug was also the only South African wine selected as a Best in Show winner this year – a remarkable achievement on one of the world's most prestigious wine stages.
Selected from thousands of wines tasted by leading international experts, the wine was praised for its precise expression of Chenin Blanc, exceptional freshness and brightness, and unmistakable Stellenbosch character. Judges highlighted its balance between fruit purity and oak integration, creating texture, complexity and a compelling sense of place.
This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our vineyard and winemaking teams, and to the world-class quality and authenticity that South African wine continues to deliver.
