From dining at The Tangram and rare after-hours cellar experiences to creative wine blending and thoughtful Father’s Day gifting, there’s every reason to linger a little longer at Durbanville Hills on the hillside this season.
One night only: Winter wine blending
You’re invited to settle into winter with an immersive one-night-only experience on 18 June at 18h00. Beginning with a welcoming glass of sparkling wine, the evening unfolds through the quiet atmosphere of the cellar, where guests are guided behind the scenes of our winemaking journey – from cool climate vineyards to wines resting patiently in maturation. A rare barrel tasting offers an early glimpse into young wines still evolving, before the experience shifts into creativity and connection around the blending tables, where guests craft and bottle their own personalised red blend under the guidance of our winemaking team. The evening concludes at The Tangram restaurant with a beautifully prepared two-course dinner and thoughtfully paired wines.

Unfiltered Thursdaze
If you’ve not yet heard, we’ve uncorked something new with the launch of Unfiltered Thursdaze, a once-a-month after-hours experience that invites guests into the creative, unfinished world of winemaking. Set beneath the olive trees or indoors (depending on the weather), these relaxed Thursday evenings offer rare access to wines still in progress, from barrel tastings and tank samples to experimental blends yet to find their final expression, alongside curated deep house music, paired bites and easy conversation with the winemaking team. Guests are encouraged to explore at their own pace, whether engaging in the interactive Guess the Barrel challenge, enjoying pizza and wine under the stars, or simply soaking up the atmosphere as the soundtrack gently builds into the evening. Honest, social and intentionally unpolished.

Seasonal winter dining at The Tangram
Winter settles beautifully over The Tangram at Durbanville Hills, where Chef Tamzyn Ehlers’ seasonal menu of comforting flavours and refined local dishes creates the perfect setting for relaxed winter dining. From flavour-packed small plates like pulled pork with crispy pap cake, springbok carpaccio and prawn and chorizo risotto, to hearty speciality dishes including bobotie-spiced chicken supreme, slow-cooked pork belly and Chalmar beef fillet with coffee jus, each plate brings together bold local flavours with refined winter indulgence. Vegetarian and vegan creations are equally celebrated, while decadent desserts such as the Milo Malva Alaska and rich chocolate fondant offer the perfect ending.
