Sales and distribution of Vergelegen wines within South Africa will now be managed by boutique distributor Cape Wine Group (CWG) from 1 May 2026.
The appointment is intended to enhance engagement with trade partners and retailers, says Vergelegen managing director Wayne Coetzer, and to support broader reach across key domestic channels. It should provide greater alignment with the estate’s evolving commercial strategy and growth trajectory.

The new distribution partnership is the latest initiative to reinforce Vergelegen’s standing as a premium wine producer.
- Luke O’Cuinneagain was appointed winemaker in 2022, and his signature white and red wines from the 2022–2023 vintages onwards are now being released.
- The estate purpose-built a 4 226 m² wine warehouse last year, which can store over two million bottles of wine. This has created a centralised hub for distribution, logistics and quality control.
