Muratie
Three months of harvesting around the clock recently concluded on Muratie Wine Estate.

Three months of harvesting around the clock at Muratie Wine Estate recently concluded with the picking of the last port varieties from the Ou Port field block planted in 1977. Vintage 2026 was marked by fine quality across the board, with the young wines showing good colour, intensity and balance. Currently, the finishing touches are being applied in the cellar, while the vineyards are receiving post-harvest fertilisation and irrigation to boost reserves after a demanding growing season. Every year, we are fortunate to have a dedicated harvest team of seasoned veterans and visiting interns, many of whom return for multiple vintages. They always seem to have a knack for ensuring that the hard, stressful work of parstyd gets done with a smile and a spirit of fun!

As we enter autumn, it is a beautiful time to visit the farm and indulge in all the delicious experiences our Tasting Room and Farm Kitchen have to offer.

Our hiking and MTB trails are also in fine form, offering spectacular scenery with changing colours across the vineyards, mountains, forest and veld.

Join us on Saturday, 18 April for another entertaining Wine Walk. This relaxed social walk over approximately 3 kilometres includes a welcome mimosa and tasting of 4 wines. Visit dirtopia.co.za for bookings and more information.

New vintage release: Isabella Chardonnay Reserve 2025

Our newly released Isabella Chardonnay Reserve 2025 is a vibrant expression of elegance and finesse, capturing the purity of the vintage with remarkable precision.

This refined Chardonnay opens with inviting aromas of citrus blossom, fresh pear, and subtle hints of toasted almond, underpinned by a delicate mineral edge. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with a creamy texture complemented by bright, refreshing acidity and a gentle touch of well-integrated oak.

Crafted in extremely limited quantities, only 600 bottles were produced, matured in a single 500L French oak barrel, enhancing its depth and complexity. The finish is long and graceful, promising both immediate enjoyment and excellent ageing potential, a true celebration of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
