China's wine import volume in 2025 fell by 26.7% and turnover dercreased by 14.6%.

China’s wine import volume in 2025 fell by 26.7% (–75.6m L) year-on-year to 207.2m L. Turnover decreased by €215.8m (–14.6%) to €1.258bn, while the average price rose accordingly to €6.07/L (+16.5%). This was reported by the wine observatory of the Spanish wine association OIVE, based on figures from Chinese customs authorities.

Bulk wine, in particular, suffered significant losses. Import volume fell by 39.6% to 65.4m L, and turnover by 7.1% to €54.4m. The average price rose accordingly to €0.83/L (+20.6%). In contrast, bottled wines (bottle + BiB) lost only 18.8% in sales volume (to 141.7m L) and 14% in turnover (to €1.203bn), with an average revenue of €8.49/L (+5.9%).
