Kleine Zalze
Kleine Zalze shares news about the harvest, fresh additions to the Cellar Selection range, new flavours at the restaurant, and more.

Harvest season underway

Harvest is already in full swing, and this is shaping up to be one of the earliest and fastest harvest seasons we’ve experienced. The dry conditions during the ripening period have resulted in exceptionally healthy grapes, with perfect acidity and outstanding quality. We are absolutely thrilled with the season so far.

On 15 January, we officially kicked off the harvest with a special blessing alongside our team, marking the start of the season ahead. It was a beautiful moment of unity and gratitude, and of course, we had to celebrate the start of the season in true style – with our cellarmaster, RJ Botha, performing a sabrage on our Brut NV Cap Classique. The team now looks ahead with excitement and anticipation for what promises to be a very successful harvest.

Fresh additions to the Cellar Selection range

We’re thrilled to welcome Pinot Grigio and Cinsault to the Kleine Zalze Cellar Selection Range. Bright, approachable, and fruit-forward, these wines are perfect for discovering the easy-drinking style our Cellar Selection is known for.

The Pinot Grigio is fresh and lively, with notes of white peach, pear, and a hint of lime blossom. The Cinsault offers soft red berry fruit, subtle floral aromas, and a smooth, silky finish. Both are crafted for effortless enjoyment, whether you’re tasting them for the first time or sharing with friends.

To celebrate their arrival, we’re offering 10% off for everyone, with extra savings for our wine club members:

If you are a 10% member, you get 20% off.
If you are a 20% member, you get 30% off.

This special offer is available 26-30 January 2026, in the tasting room and online – the perfect way to taste these new arrivals.

Celebrating 367 years of South African wine

Did you know that South Africa is unique among the world’s wine-producing nations in knowing the exact date its wine industry began? On 2 February 1659, the first wine was officially recorded – a moment that marked the beginning of a remarkable journey and laid the foundation for the country’s rich winemaking heritage.

At Kleine Zalze, we’re proud to honour this incredible legacy and celebrate the past, present, and future of South African wine. We hope you’ll raise a glass with us to 367 years of excellence, innovation, and passion – and join us in celebrating the wines that make our country truly special.
