Steenberg invites music lovers to a night under the Constantia stars with Moonshine, a vintage-inspired live music experience led by acclaimed saxophonist Dan Shout. Taking place on Thursday, 5 March 2026 at Tryn, this alfresco concert blends classic swing with soulful Motown, all performed by some of Cape Town’s finest jazz musicians.
Expect a spirited musical journey from the Roaring 20’s and Prohibition era through the swingin’ 30’s and 40’s, ending in the iconic Motown sound of the 1960s. Led by saxophonist Dan Shout and with celebrated artists Amy Campbell (vocals), Andrew Ford (piano), Sibusiso Matsimela (double bass) and Langa Dubazana (drums), guests can look forward to timeless favourites by Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and more.
Settle in with an alfresco picnic on the lawns or dine under the Oaks at Tryn. Guests can tailor their evening experience with a choice of concert-only tickets, gourmet picnic boxes for two, or a three-course plated dinner created by Executive Chef Kerry Kilpin. Steenberg wines, G&Ts, beers and soft drinks will be available for purchase on the evening. Please note, no bring your own (BYO) food or beverages.
Concert-only tickets are priced at R330 per person, while couples can enjoy a Concert & Picnic Box experience for R1 300, with additional picnic boxes available for pre-order at R875 each (serving two people). Guests seeking a more refined evening may book Table Seating under the Oaks with a three-course dinner at R935 per person, which includes the concert ticket.
Those guests opting for lawn seating are welcome to bring picnic blankets and chairs (guests with chairs will be seated along the perimeter). For guests reserving table seating, please contact the team should you wish to be seated with friends or family.
