Stellenbosch Reserve
Exploring Stellenbosch Reserve’s wines - and the stories behind the town’s most iconic buildings.

In Stellenbosch, history isn’t just something you read about - it's woven into the oak-lined streets, the gables glowing in the morning sun, and the restless energy of students, winemakers and dreamers who pass through every day. Here, heritage and creativity meet. And every bottle of Stellenbosch Reserve captures that meeting point: a wine collection inspired by the landmarks that shaped this remarkable town.

Each wine pays tribute to a building that helped define Stellenbosch’s identity. Here’s how every bottle brings a piece of the past to life.

Hangbrug Chenin Blanc

The Hanging Bridge – Movement, connection, everyday ingenuity.

Once a lifeline across the Eerste River, the “Hangbrug” symbolised connection. The Hangbrug Chenin Blanc echoes that effortless balance - fresh citrus, stone fruit and a gentle texture that brings past and present together in every sip.

Moederkerk Chardonnay

The Mother Church – Grace, foundation and timeless beauty.

Since 1863, the Moederkerk has stood as one of Stellenbosch’s grandest landmarks. The Chardonnay named in its honour carries that same quiet elegance: pear, lemon curd and warm oak spice layered with poise. A wine built to last, grounded in heritage.

Stadsaal Cinsault

The Town Hall – Celebration, community, shared moments.

Built in 1939, the Stellenbosch Town Hall remains the heartbeat of civic life. Our Cinsault mirrors this sense of gathering - crafted from old vines that offer a living taste of Stellenbosch’s roots.

Kruithuis Syrah

The Kruithuis – Strength, precision and enduring power.

Completed in 1777 as a munitions store for the Dutch East India Company, the Kruithuis stands as a symbol of military might. The Syrah inspired by it is bold and structured, with dark fruit, pepper and smoky depth - powerful, yet finely balanced

Kweekskool Merlot

The Seminary – Growth, learning and quiet reflection.

Home to Stellenbosch University’s Theology faculty, the Kweekskool has evolved since 1687, mirroring generations of learning. The Merlot captures that spirit: soft, generous and contemplative, with red plum, mocha and gentle tannins.

Ou Hoofgebou Cabernet Sauvignon

The Old Main Building – Legacy, leadership and longevity.

Built for Stellenbosch’s bicentenary and designed by Carl Otto Hager, the Ou Hoofgebou stands as a monument to the town’s commitment to education. Its Cabernet Sauvignon reflects that stature - complex, structured and built for ageing.

Vanderstel Bordeaux Blend

A tribute to the founder and the town’s pioneering spirit.

Simon van der Stel founded Stellenbosch in 1679, laying the foundations for a town that would champion excellence in wine, academia and culture. The Bordeaux Blend honours that legacy with richness, refinement and depth.

Heritage in every glass

The Stellenbosch Reserve collection doesn’t just celebrate history—it lets you taste it. Each bottle is a reminder that Stellenbosch’s legacy lives on in its vineyards, its winemakers and the stories that shaped this extraordinary town.

Raise a glass, and you become part of that story too.
