We started with a relaxed braai at the winery, prepared by Chefs Mark and Mo, where head winemaker Gerhard Swart led a special tasting of our wines. It was the perfect way to set the tone for an eventful few weeks for Flagstone Wines.
Our team then spent several days at CapeWine 2025, connecting with passionate people from across the South African wine industry as well as international guests. It was an inspiring opportunity to share our wines, learn from others, and celebrate everything that makes the Cape winelands so unique.
We’re also happy to share the results from the Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards. Our Tributary Chenin Blanc 2023, Surge Sauvignon Blanc 2024, and Paradigm 2024 all earned Double Gold, our Music Room Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 was awarded Platinum, and Treaty Tree Red Classique 2022 took home the prestigious BDX Trophy. We also brought home Gold medals for Truth Tree Pinotage 2022, Dark Horse Shiraz 2021, Dragon Tree Cape Blend 2022, Two Roads Chardonnay 2022, Free Run Sauvignon Blanc 2023, and Word of Mouth Viognier 2023.
Adding to the celebrations, our 2022 Writer’s Block Pinotage and 2022 Truth Tree Pinotage were named among the top 20 finalists in the 2025 Absa Top 10 Pinotage – an exciting recognition in this special 100th year of Pinotage.
