From the cellar: A word from our winemaker, Chris Albrecht
As vintners, we are constantly and acutely aware of prevailing weather patterns during harvest – a great deal of what ends up in your bottle of wine is determined by it. I'm delighted to share that the 2025 harvest unfolded under near-perfect conditions: dry, moderately cool days with generous sunshine.
Although somewhat congested at times, vineyards were harvested timeously and at optimal ripeness levels. Fruit quality was immaculate throughout and not once was the vineyard team's progress interrupted by heavy showers. Yields were healthy, yet balanced, adding to an already remarkable vintage.
This is the kind of harvest we dream of: I suggest you make sufficient space in your cellar for this vintage.
Hemel-en-Aarde's finest: A festival of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
The 2025 Hemel-en-Aarde Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Festival was a resounding success, offering an unforgettable celebration of Hemel-en-Aarde's unique terroir and the region's exceptional wines.
For the past 10 years, this iconic event has been dedicated to showcasing the world-renowned Pinot Noir, and this year, for the first time, Chardonnay was added to the festivities, elevating the experience.
Guests enjoyed a day filled with tastings, masterclasses, and live entertainment, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the valley's natural beauty. The event provided a rare opportunity to explore the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, meet the winemakers, and learn about the intricate craft behind these noble varieties.
With a warm atmosphere, fun activities, and incredible wines, the festival proved to be a must-attend experience, making it one to mark on the calendar for next year.
Guided vineyard walk
Embark on an unforgettable vineyard walk and indulge in a cultivated wine tasting, uncovering the essence of our finest cultivars. The walk will be guided by a knowledgeable ambassador as you savour our award-winning wines, whilst being mesmerized by the beauty of our vineyard.
Walks take place at 09h00 and must be booked 48 hours in advance. The experience costs R175 per person and includes a guided walk, a map and a bottle of water.
