Vergelegen Pear Eau de Vie just launched
Our new, limited edition pear eau de vie is made from Clapp's pears harvested from a 30 year old orchard on our farm, which produces beautiful pears every season. In 2024, we hand harvested a small batch of perfect pears and distilled them into this smooth, clear and refreshing pear eau de vie.
Our winemaker Luke O’Cuinneagain says the fruit mash was first fermented in our hilltop cellar for ten days, then distilled and bottled by the Dalla Cia family in Stellenbosch, renowned for their distilling expertise. A clear fruit brandy was the result, with delicate pear notes and a smooth finish.
It is delicious served as an aperitif or an excellent addition to a variety of cocktails and makes a thoughtful gift or Easter-time spoil.
Each bottle, presented in a beautiful gift box, costs R650 and is available on our online shop or in our tasting room.

Holiday season at Vergelegen
It is school holidays and what a better way to treat the kids than a visit to Vergelegen. The lush lawns are perfect for running, Stables is serving up delicious kids meals, and there are wonderful cakes on offer at the Rose Terrace Tea Room.
Easter is also just around the corner and the farm is buzzing with Easter themed treats. Our garden Easter bunnies are visiting, and little ones can follow the bunny trail to a secret location and be awarded with a sweet treat. Hop on down and have some fun exploring the gardens.
Seasonal dates to diarise
31 March - Our photo contest's finalist images are on display on a rotational basis in the library until end of April.
20 April - Our annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place in the Octagonal Garden. Tickets are sold out and we are looking forward to welcoming all our young guests.
24 May - We still have a few tickets left for the last Vergelegen Trail walk this season. New dates for September, October, and November will be released in June.
April - Watch this space for our winter events calendar which will be released in the coming weeks.
