Neethlingshof
Neethlingshof introduces the Short Story Collection, a range connecting the stories of the estate's rich heritage to the character of the wines.

It’s no secret that Sauvignon Blanc is a South African favourite. At Neethlingshof, we have three different Sauvignon Blancs, made with love.

Two of these Sauvignon Blanc wines can be found as part of our Short Story Collection. Neethlingshof's dedication to preserving natural renosterveld among our viticultural practices provides a home for different species, and the wines in the Short Story Collection tell the tales of our history and commitment to sustainability.

The Jackal's Dance Sauvignon Blanc

The Neethlingshof story began in 1692 when the original farm was named De Wolwedans, translating to "The Dance of Wolves", due to a mistaken sighting of wolves. These wolves were black backed jackal, endemic to south Africa and can be found in a range of habitats from the edges of urban areas to the scrublands and renosterveld areas.

The Jackal's Dance Sauvignon Blanc lives up to its name's sake. Made in stainless steel and aged on the lees, this Sauvignon Blanc has beautiful mouthfeel complimented by flavours of pear, passionfruit and lemon, dancing on your palate with a refreshing acidity.

We are a proud member of the WWF Conservation Champions programme. This means that we’re committed to biodiversity-friendly and regenerative farming practices, conserve our natural areas and continually improve our water and energy efficiencies. Check them out online or follow them on Instagram to keep up to date with all things conservation: @followthesugarbird.

The Duiker Cadenza Sauvignon Blanc

In 1986, our certified old vineyard Sauvignon Blanc was planted and today, The Duiker Cadenza Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent expression of a Blanc Fumé in South Africa.

The duiker is a small antelope with striking horns and one of the few animals that are endemic to Africa, preferring areas with natural cover for protection. In the vineyards of the Bottelary Hills conservancy, where Neethlingshof is located, the duiker takes centre stage when appearing with grace and expression in the early and late hours of the day.

This small animal reflects harmony in the vineyards with diverse ecosystem and animals which also speaks to the expression of the Sauvignon Blanc Fumé which is partially barrel fermented. Fresh and inviting aroma profile of pear, guava, cape gooseberry with elements of vanilla and undertones of jasmine.
