Pebbles Project is a non-profit organisation that aims to enable children and young adults from agricultural communities to reach their full potential through education, health and nutrition services. The organisation currently supports over 1 300 beneficiaries aged 0-25 years and have been in service of agricultural communities since 2004.

To celebrate their 20-year anniversary, Pebbles Project created an impact film called "Kindness". The documentary short film explores the profound impact that Pebbles Project makes on the lives of their beneficiaries. Hillebrand Gori, a longstanding supporter of Pebbles Project, proudly sponsored the short film.

"Kindness" won the award for Best Documentary in August at the Kleinkaap Short Film Festival (KSFF) in Pretoria.

Pebbles Project was informed that "Kindness" has been selected as a finalist for the 6th Big Syn International Film Festival (BSIFF) in London. This is the world's biggest sustainability film festival, led by a grand jury of Oscar, BAFTA and Emmy award winners; leaders from the United Nations and House of Lords; and sustainability, policy, and media stalwarts.

The BSIFF is organised by Big Syn Institute, which is a part of the Centre for Big Synergy, a civil society organisation of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). Since 2019, the festival has reached over 45 million people in 120 countries to create public awareness about sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals using the power of meaningful cinema.

The festival trailer had a grand opening at London’s iconic Piccadilly Lights, Europe’s biggest screen. The festival will be screening films until 26 October 2024. The public is invited to view the FREE global screenings of the films on www.bigsyn.org.

The festival is screening a dazzling array of nearly 150 films that has been selected from hundreds of feature films, shorts, documentaries, animations, micro-shorts, and charity films from over 120 countries.

"Kindness" was directed, produced, and written by Pebbles Project fundraiser Liesl Ahlers, who is excited to attend the gala awards event in London on 8 November 2024.

Please keep an eye on BSIFF's social media channels for updates on the awards gala event and its outcomes. Follow them on Facebook or Instagram.
