Spier
Whether it's vineyards, veggie gardens, or landscaping, it doesn't matter – we need to make things better.

It starts with soil

Feel the pulse of Spier Wine Farm as we go behind the scenes on our regenerative journey and meet some of the dedicated individuals behind a few of our regenerative practices, from reviving indigenous plant species to innovative soil improvement. Their stories reveal how we're not just sustaining, but actively improving the land we're privileged to steward.

Meet our visionaries

There’s a transformation in progress on our farm. Meet some of our visionaries - a nursery manager, a vineyard grower, and a regenerative farmer - each bringing life back to the land, one living thing at a time.

Wilton Sikhosan, nursery manager

"What we are doing is restorative. Planting back all the indigenous and the endemic plants that were removed from the farm...we're trying to bring it back to how it was before."

Orlando Filander, farm manager

"This land doesn't belong to us, we're just the custodians of this farm...everyone working on this farm aims to leave it in a better state..."

Angus McIntosh, farmer

"The more carbon we have in our soils, the more water and nutrients it can hold...we are trying to produce foods that are nutrient dense and at the same time - are building an ecosystem on the farm."
