Muratie
Spring has sprung and while the first buds are yet to appear on the vines, we're very excited about the imminent new growing season at Muratie.

Adding to our excitement here Muratie Wine Estate at is the news just in that we have won three gold medals at the prestigious Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards. The winning wines are the Isabella Chardonnay 2023, Alberta Annemarie Merlot 2020, and Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon 2019.

What's more, authoritative UK wine critic Tim Atkin MW has published his latest SA Special Report, and we are pleased to announce that no less than seven of our wines received a score of more than 90 points out of 100. Our Isabella Chardonnay 2023 and The Senator Cape LBV 2016 both scored 92, while the Laurens Campher Blended White 2023, Ansela van de Caab 2020, Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve 2021 and Ronnie Melck Syrah Family Reserve 2020 all scored a stellar 93 points. Our yet-to-be-released icon wine, The Story 2020, scored a superlative 94 points. More information on this special Bordeaux Blend will be shared soon. We are very proud of our winemaking team for these outstanding feats!

To stock up on your wine collection, we are offering a fantastic Spring Pack special consisting of one bottle each of Laurens Campher Blended White 2022, GP Canitz Pinot Noir 2021 and Mr. May Grenache Noir 2021 at 15% discount. These are some of our most refreshing, vibrant wines to enjoy in spring.

To celebrate Heritage Month, we also have a tasting room promotion on the GP Canitz Pinot Noir. This perenially popular wine is named after the eponymous artist who was custodian of Muratie from 1927 to 1958. Canitz, originally from Germany, had two great passions in life: painting and Pinot Noir! He pioneered this grape variety in South Africa and was influential in modernising winemaking on Muratie. A man ahead of his time, he also started the first wine club on the estate at a time when it was rare for producers to sell wine directly to the public.

Be sure to visit Muratie this September to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the new season. The birds are chirping, fresh green growth is popping up all over the werf, and delicious new dishes are taking shape in the Farm Kitchen. Indulge in Chef Hannele's eggs benedict or mosbolletjies after your morning run or hike across our spectacular trails. We look forward to welcoming you for breakfast, lunch, wine tastings, or perhaps a glass of fine bubbly to celebrate spring.

Cheers to new beginnings!
