Jeanine popped in at Simonsig for wine.co.za's first harvest visit of the season to see how it's going with the Chardonnay picking. She chatted with the new vineyard manager Saul du Plessis and his team, and picked some grapes.
A journey of discovery at Springfontein - Judy and Kevin
Early in the New Year, Judy and Kevin visited Springfontein Wine Estate in Stanford for the first time. There, they went on a tour of the farm and dined at Wortelgat Restaurant, where they enjoyed 7 courses of beautiful fare, craftily made by chef Janine van der Nest. It is a calm, beautiful and unfussy space, and they were warmly welcomed by the local staff who clearly are an integral part of the farm.
South Africa’s 365th Wine Birthday at One&Only Cape Town - Jeanine
The birthday of South African wine is commemorated annually on 2 February. Jeanine joined One&Only Cape Town, in partnership with Wesgro, at their party in celebration of this momentous occasion on Friday evening, 2 February. The hotel featured a series of exceptional wines from 14 estates. There was also a feast of culinary delights to pair with the wines, and a band provided the soundtrack.
Harvest outing at Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate - Erica, Jeanine and Mihle
Amid the bustle of #Harvest2024, Erica, Jeanine and Mihle visted Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate to see what's happening on the farm. Friedrich von Wielligh, the newly appointed sales manager of Vergenoegd Löw, welcomed us and took us on a tour of the wine cellar. We also toured a few of the main attractions on the estate, and enjoyed a wine tasting.

Jeanine joined the launch of Spier's latest Cap Classique creation, Spier Prestige Cuvée 2016, with good company and farm-fresh mosbolletjies on a lovely summer's morning. The launch function was hosted on the verandah of The Manor House on Spier Wine Farm, Stellenbosch.
Jordan Harvest Lunch 2024 - Erica and Jeanine
On Monday, 26 February, Erica and Jeanine joined Gary Jordan, Jacques Steyn, and Sjaak Nelson on Jordan Wine Estate for their annual Harvest Lunch. We took a behind-the-scenes look at the 2024 harvest, tasted through some of the latest vintage releases (including the all-new Jordan Dry Rosé), and had a harvest-style lunch at The Cellar Door at Jordan.
