The 1659 Award for Visionary Leadership is a highly regarded accolade commemorating the year when wine was first produced from Cape grapes. This award highlights the accomplishments of those who have significantly impacted the wine industry.
Last year, Ken Forrester, known worldwide as Mr Chenin, received this recognition. “Being nominated for the 1659 Award was incredibly special; the opportunity to join the hallowed ranks of all those before me – many of them already legends – was one of the biggest surprises in my life. This is a truly humbling experience to be recognised by one’s peers in an industry that thrives on passion and creativity,” stated Forrester.
