About the Gérard Basset Foundation
The Gérard Basset Foundation is mandated to fund educational and professional programs focused on supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in wine, spirits and hospitality globally.
Our mission is to provide funding for programmes that significantly enhance the career opportunities of those that they support. We fund credible programmes that support a diverse range of communities, including:

The Grantees comprise organisations ranging from grass-roots non-profits to globally renowned research institutions, and each project which we support with them fulfils our mandate of promoting diversity and inclusion in the wine, spirits and hospitality industries.
About IWEC
The International Wine Education Centre (IWEC) was established in 2011 as the first Approved Programme Provider for the internationally-recognised Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in Africa. WSET is the largest global provider of wines and spirits qualifications and their wine and spirit courses are the accepted industry-standard in more than 70 countries around the world.

External to South Africa, the IWEC has run courses in Mauritius, Namibia, UAE, Qatar and Maldives and is happy to consider future courses anywhere to meet demands.
