Kleine Zalze
An update on the harvest and exciting things to expect at Kleine Zalze this March.

Approaching the peak of harvest 2023

The last two weeks was crunch time in the cellar with late nights and early mornings to bring in the last white grapes, especially a lot of Sauvignon Blanc.

As expected, it is a smaller harvest on the white wines than last year, but the quality looks very promising. Next up will be Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Then, just a gentle reminder that our cellar door and on-line prices will increase 1 March so make sure you stock up at 2022 pricing before the end of this short month!

March’s Greek summer sensation

Our theme for March's Sunday lunch is Greece, and what a feast chef Nic van Wyk has planned! First up is a stunning Greek salad with olives, tomato, cucumber, peppers, feta cheese and olive oil served alongside pita bread and an array of dips.

For a second course we are serving an always popular dish of fried calamari with tzatziki before a beautiful main course of lemon and thyme braised lamb with orzo rice, zucchini & aubergine. The meal concludes with a traditional Greek dessert of baklava, served with yoghurt sorbet and roasted figs for a unique South African summer twist. Remember that we also offer the Sunday Harvest Style Lunch as a completely plant based (vegan) option - just let us know in advance. See the full Middle Eastern Feast menu HERE.

Join us for our popular Harvest Style Sunday Lunch at the Kleine Zalze Restaurant, where you can enjoy a 4-course menu with a different theme every month. Not only is the March Greek Harvest Table a feast for the eyes, but is certain to be a culinary feast of note!

The Kleine Zalze Restaurant is open for lunch from 12h00 - 16h30 Mondays to Sundays (last orders at 15h30). Platters and tapas available at the Tasting Room until 17h00. To book call us on 021 880 8167 or book via DinePlan.
