Location location location. You know how the classic saying goes, and this is evident with Cederberg Cellar being in a crucial position in the Greater Cederberg Biodiversity Corridor.

For David Nieuwoudt, it is important to establish “green areas from the West Coast all the way to the South Coast”. Being in the middle of Cape Nature, it is essential to provide these Biodiversity Corridors throughout this region.

David Nieuwoudt, owner and winemaker of Cederberg Cellar

Cederberg Wines has contributed towards 5.5ha of unspoilt land as it is important for them to protect and nurture the natural habitats. As David says, “Bigger is not always better, but rather use what you have to your advantage.”

The greater Cederberg has a past stretching millions of years with its unique ethos and savage beauty. It also has a present where these custodians are taking care of and allowing the natural beauty and life to live and grow.

Finally, it has a future and because of the current efforts, this will continue for many many years to come. It is important to live, grow and work together with nature when producing wines, and this is exactly what Cederberg has done.

When drinking their wines you can appreciate all the efforts that have gone into making it while keeping nature at the forefront.
