Boschendal continued its standout performance in the Veritas Awards with the highlight being the Double Gold Medal for Nicolas 2019 amongst two other Gold Medals for Grand Cuvee Brut 2015 and 1685 Sauvignon Blanc 2022.
“Veritas is always a tough competition, and we are proud of our continued success, especially in Cap Classique and Red Blends which have some outstanding entries and are styles which are a huge focus for us in the vineyards and cellar,” remarks cellarmaster, Jacques Viljoen.
The Boschendal Nicolas is a distinctive Cabernet driven blend, crafted predominantly from vineyards on the Helderberg and blended with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot along with a supporting dash of Shiraz. The wine shows incredible fruit purity with notes of red cherries, fresh plums and mulberries supported by pencil shavings and dark chocolate. A vibrant wine with smooth tannins, excellent length and timeless elegance.
The prestigious Veritas Awards is South Africa's longest standing and most prestigious wine and brandy competition and attracted 1312 entries this year.
