With over 400 South African producers under one roof, this year's CapeWine is the biggest one yet. The show runs over 3 days from 5-7 October 2022 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), with today being the last day to visit the show. Note that this is a Trade Event only.

DO: Attend one of the final formal seminars of CapeWine
Today, the last of the series of formal seminars take place. We can highly recommend catching the last of these in-depth, informative and fascinating seminars:
- The morning seminar, titled ‘Buying Biodiversity’, focuses on environmental stewardship, conservation, and ecotourism, and it will look at initiatives like IPW, WIETA, Fairtrade, and WWF Conservation Champions.
- The afternoon seminar, 'Fairtrade in the Future', will focus on future opportunities and the next frontier for Fairtrade wines.
DO: Listen to interesting talks at the Amorim Speaker's Corner
The Amorim Speaker’s Corner, which is hosting ten short yet informative sessions on a range of themes, is a great place to learn more about the South African wine industry and taste some quality South African wine. Be sure to attend at least one of these and experience them for yourself. Tip: Get their early, as spaces are very limited.
DO: Pop in at the Hillebrand GORI Sustainability Partners stand
At the Hillebrand GORI Sustainability Partners stand at the centre of the exhibition hall, find a selection of industry-linked partners who contribute to making the South African wine industry better for all. They do amazing work, and are definitely worth supporting.
TASTE: Be one of the first to taste just-released wines
Many wine producers opt to showcase wines that have not yet been released to the public at CapeWine. This is a truly unique opportunity that is not to be missed!. The Drift, for example, released their new range Thornleigh at the show, made by winemaker Thornton Pillay. Consisting of two wines, Sauvignon Blanc and a red blend, this range is unlike anything The Drift's ever created before. They keep innovating; and trust me, you need to get in on the action!
TASTE: Experience the best of South African brandy at the SA Brandy Lounge
For the first team ever, CapeWine now features a SA Brandy Lounge. The SA Brandy Foundation's brandy lounge is a classy, intimate spot to taste some of the best South African brandies or sip on brandy cocktails while you take a break.
SEE: Creative, eye-catching branding
From botanically-inspired décor to a merry-go-round stand, many exhibitors really went all out to wow visitors. Do take a moment simply to walk around and admire all the effort that went into creating stands that would really pull visitors in. My personal recommendations are Origin Wine, DGB, Spier, Constantia Wine Route, and Zoo Cru.
