Mandela Day success
Thanks to generous individuals and corporates, Pebbles Project had a very successfully Mandela Day in July.
We received the following donations:
- 180 Grade R stationery packs
- 40 Grade 8 and Matric stationery packs
- 18 teenage boy hygiene care packages
- Cash donations

Hemel-en-Aarde news
It has been a tough few weeks for the Hemel-en-Aarde Education Project. After the staff returned from the winter school break, they discovered the bridge was not safe to cross with the school bus. This meant they were unable to access the project.
The learners are being taught in the local town hall while the municipality attempts to fix the bridge. Heavy rains have not been in our favour. We're proud of our teachers and learners for ensuring education still takes place under trying circumstances.
Skills centre launch
It all started with a phone call to our offices at the end of March. It was SBA Communications calling and they were interested in donating a building to Pebbles Project. It is not every day we receive phone calls like this so we were very excited.
After many discussions and planning, it was decided that the building will be used as a Skills Centre for the Early Adulthood Programme in Stellenbosch. The building was completed in August and the official handover took place at the Stellenbosch Open Day on 9 September. The centre will benefit the Early Adulthood Programme which supports young adults from 15-25 years old. Our aim is to assist them with occupational, entrepreneurial, and various life skills to access sustainable livelihood opportunities. The centre will benefit 29 young adults with capacity to expand in the future.
Current needs: Kettle, microwave, dustbin, toaster, rug, and dishcloths.
Job shadowing at Hillebrand GORI
During the June/July school holidays, 14 Pebbles Ambassadors job shadowed at Hillebrand GORI for three days. They were able to experience working in office, warehouse, and factory environments. Thank you for investing in the future of our learners and opening up their experience of the world of work.
We're always looking for partner that are willing to walk a journey with our Pebbles Ambassadors and give them an opportunity to gain a new skill or gain valuable job shadowing experiences. Please reach out to us if this is something you would like to get involved in.
AGM and Stellenbosch Open Day

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023
For the first time EVER, we have charity entries for the London Landmarks Half Marathon taking place on the 2 April 2023. The 21km/13 mile race winds through the closed streets of Westminster and city of London. Run through London's top landmarks while raising funds for Pebbles. We have limited entries available.
