The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Conservation Champion Programme is offering this Sustainable Wine e-training in preparation for an exciting Cape Wine 2022 and a positive summer tourist season. Telling your sustainability story in a personal and professional way is critical to engaging with your consumers and visitors.
Be inspired, informed and equipped with knowledge and skills to promote sustainable wine tourism to local and international visitors, tourists, consumers and other key stakeholders!
Join us for an exciting 1.5 hour e-training session developed especially for tourism offices, tour guides and tour operators in the wine industry, enabling you to tap into the tourist demand for unique experiences and to attract conscious consumers who want to support sustainable wine farms, by telling stories of exceptional wine produced with nature in mind.

Course topics
- Understanding the unique ecology and threats facing the unique Cape Floral Kingdom, the importance of biodiversity conservation in the Cape Winelands and how to engage stakeholders on these issues.
- Understanding the role of tourism in Sustainable Wine Tourism, and the benefits of the WWF Conservation Champions programme, including ecotourism.
- Learn more about the 55 wine farms that are recognised as WWF Conservation Champions and insights into unique sustainability efforts implemented on these wine farms.
- Discover the range of collective marketing tools and resources available to tourism offices, tour operators and tour guides, including practical storytelling tips to promote sustainability stories.

The session is facilitated by Angela Barter, founder of The PR Agency and capacity and development training partner for the WWF-SA Conservation Champion programme.
