SAWTC
At the South African Wine Tasting Championships (SAWTC)'s Team South Africa 2022 selection this past Sunday (4 September), Danielle le Roux (Rust en Vrede), Heidi Kritzinger (Kanonkop Wine Estate), and Welma Smith (Atlas Swift) emerged victorious. They will represent South Africa at the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships this October.
The wines used in the selection were:

- Chardonnay, Hemel en Aarde Valley, Hamilton Russell 2021, South Africa
- Chenin Blanc, Stellenbosch, Ken Forrester, 2007 South Africa
- Sauvignon Blanc, Pouilly Fumé, Pascal Jolivet, 2019, France
- Cabernet/Cinsault/Carignan, Bekaa Valley, Chateau Musar 2007, Lebanon
- Tempranillo, Rioja, Vina Tondonia, 2005 Spain
- Nebbiolo, Barbaresco, Produttori Barbaresco, 2013, Italy
- Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley, The Fog Monster, 2014, USA
- Pinot Noir, Malborough, Cloudy Bay, 2018, New Zealand
- Verdelho, Madeira, Henriques & Henriques, 10 years old, Portugal
Team SA will fly to France via Air France on 2 October. The World Blind Wine Tasting Championships will take place in Champagne on Saturday 8 October 2022. We wish them all the best!
