Mosaic Top 5 Pinot Noir Wine Awards
Entries for the 2022 edition of the Mosaic Top 5 Pinot Noir Wine Awards are open. The five winners will be announced on International Pinot Noir Day on 18 August 2022 and the results will receive extensive broadcasting through social media and traditional media coverage.
The Mosaic Top 5 Pinot Noir Wine Awards identifies the best South African Pinot Noir red wines to serve as a benchmark for the development of distinctive South African Pinot Noir red wines and to illustrate the quality of South African Pinot Noir red wines to the world.
Convened by Top Five Trust and sponsored by specialist financial services firm Mosaic Family Office, the competition is proud to recognise and support the climate, people, soil, and the multitude of other factors that go into making the best Pinot Noir red wines in South Africa.
The judging panel members for this year’s competition are:
- Winifred Bowman, CWM - Chairperson - Cape Wine Master and international wine judge
- Adi Badenhorst - Winemaker at AA Badenhorst Family Wines
- Achim Doerr - Consulting winemaker and international wine judge from Germany
- Fiona McDonald - Editor of Cheers Magazine and international wine judge
- Gregory Mutambe - Head sommelier at the Twelve Apostles Hotel
Pinot Noir producers are invited to complete and submit the online entry form by 25 July 2022 and to deliver three sample bottles between 25 and 27 July 2022.
Entrance to the competition is free, in the spirit of supporting the widest possible diversity of expressions and submissions. Consult the competition rules for details.
