Artémis Domaines partners with Gérard Basset Foundation and Liquid Icons to launch the new Golden Vines Victims of Conflict Scholarships.

Artémis Domaines has announced a new scholarship program in partnership with the Gérard Basset Foundation and Liquid Icons, to support qualified wine industry professionals who are victims of war and geopolitical conflict. The Artémis Domaines Golden Vines Victims of Conflict Scholarships will provide viticultural and vinicultural on-site 6 month training at their prestigious estates to five scholars. The application window for these new scholarships is now open. Applicants can apply online from today until 4 July 2022.

The scholarships will be equally funded by Artémis Domaines and the Gérard Basset Foundation in partnership with Liquid Icons. Château Latour, Clos de Tart, Domaine d’Eugénie, Château Grillet in France and Eisele Vineyard in Napa Valley, USA will all be part of the program. The 5 scholarships are worth up to €20,000 each.

The following individuals make up the judging panel for the Scholarship program:

  • Ian Harris MBE DipWSET (Gérard Basset Foundation)
  • Hélène Génin (Technical director at Château Latour)
  • Jean Garandeau (Artémis Domaines)

Frédéric Engerer, CEO at Artémis Domaines, commented: “No one who has been following the destruction that is taking place in Ukraine today cannot be moved and feel for the people whose lives have been so tragically impacted.

We are, therefore, delighted to partner with the Gérard Basset Foundation and Liquid Icons to help our fellow industry colleagues whose lives and livelihoods have been so devastated by giving them an opportunity to get back on their feet and benefit from the incredible learning opportunities that they will have at the great estates that we are fortunate enough to own and manage.”

Lewis Chester DipWSET of Liquid Icons and head of fundraising at the Gérard Basset Foundation added: “The work we do is firmly aimed at helping minorities and the less fortunate to achieve their dreams within the wine, spirits and hospitality industries through education, whether formal or on the job learning.

Artémis Domaines have an unrivaled collection of fine wine estates that anyone with an interest in the wine industry would bite your arm off to work at. We are so proud and honored that Artémis Domaines have agreed to work with us to help dedicated wine professionals who are victims of conflict in their own countries regain their dignity and chosen career path.”
