The story is told from generation to generation in our valley. And if you can hear the trains then you knew that the rain is coming. We ended our harvest at Delheim on 22 March. The 2022 vintage appears to be an exceptional one, delivering on both excellent quality and volumes.
We continue to build our people, plant new vineyards, and stay positive (Covid negative).
uLutsha is born
After a fun thought that started many years ago, we finally teamed up with the Pinotage Youth Development Academy and created a learning experience for both them and us: How to make wine and launch your own brand. What a special journey this has been for the entire Delheim team.
The all-new uLutsha wine brand was officially launched on 24 February at a celebratory event at Delheim Estate. "uLutsha" is an isiXhosa word for “the youth” and it is fitting that it was developed by a group of young, passionate wine graduates.

Collaborations with old friends
On another joint project, we were inspired by Christoph Hammel who worked at Delheim in 1985 as a student to create a dry riesling. Hammel & Cie in Germany is well known for its innovation and creativity and our team is enjoying their positive inputs.

Cozy up with Delheim this winter
Our popular Jazz & Cheese Fondue events will return in July and August, and we will once again be collaborating with the fantastic
Cape Town Music Academy and Jazz in the Native Yards.
Without forgetting nature, we can also share that we will be hosting our annual Mushroom Forage with Gary Goldman. It will be open to the public to book and our wine club members will receive private invitationa to come and forage with our owner Nora Thiel.
