A brand new wine which forms part of our Classic range. A blend of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon; this Bordeaux style blend is a showcase of our focus on the traditional Bordeaux varietals, perfectly suited to the Steenberg terroir.
With this new blend, we show admiration to Catharina Ras' life-long resilience and courage. The life of Catharina Ras, our remarkable founder, was one of adventure and zeal and can be imagined into a tale of FIVE chapters with each chapter offering Catharina a series of seemingly insurmountable challenges.
These FIVE chapters illustrate the FIVE LIVES of Catharina and how she was able to harness her courage, adapt and be resilient through each new chapter and each new life.
Discover the story by collecting all FIVE chapters. The FIVE chapters are narrated on a series of different back labels. The wine itself is a lush and structured wine with a velvety texture and great length. You can expect notes of blackcurrant cassis, earth, basil and plum. The wine is showing beautifully now and will cellar well for up to 5 years.

Join us in celebrating the harvest season with some of these harvest-inspired experiences:
Steenberg Tasting Room: taste the just picked grapes of the day, as well as the freshly pressed juice with your tasting.
Bistro Sixteen82: freshly picked grapes will be served at lunch. Order the harvest-inspired dish of fish tartare with lemongrass and lime vinaigrette, verjuice and apple gel, pickled grapes, cucumber salsa and avocado for lunch and tapas.
Tryn: freshly picked grapes and traditional mosbolletjies will be served for lunch and dinner.
Two lip-smacking harvest-inspired cocktails are featured on our menu to enjoy: Pineapple & Grape Spritzer and a Pink G&T.
Harvesting of grapes is a process guided by nature, therefore all offerings are subject to availability.
