Neethlingshof Wine Estate
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 virus and continuing measures announced by government, we have taken the decision to close our Restaurant, our Wine Tasting Centre as well as our Wine Garden.

Neethlingshof Estate COVID-19 Policy
At this stage the temporary closure is effective until 31 March 2020. During this period of time we will continuously assess the situation and keep you up to date through our social media platforms as well as our website.

Although we have no reason to believe that any of our staff have been exposed to anyone infected by the COVID-19 virus, we believe that being proactive is the responsible thing to do. As a result we are taking all precautionary health and safety measures to safeguard both visitors as well as our loyal staff. We have been in contact with all tour operators that visited us over the last couple of weeks and can confirm that they are not aware of anyone in their groups being infected or showing any symptoms related to the COVID-19 virus.

We trust that we will soon be up and running again and able to welcome back healthy visitors being hosted by healthy staff. In the meantime it is important that we do the right things in order to minimise the infection rate in our country.

Rest assured that our wines will continue to be available in stores nationwide. You can also order online through our website and we will ship it to you.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support. Together we are stronger and together we will get through these trying times.

The Biking Bug has bitten Neethlingshof kids
In recent news, before COVID-19 started causing havoc, the Neethlingshof Anna Foundation learners had a skills training session with racing champion, Ariane Lüthi, and it appears that the riding bug has truly bitten for the group of learners who attended!

March vineyard & cellar news
As we are nearing the end of our harvest season, some two weeks earlier than last year, we have some time to take a short breather before we get ready to start picking the king of grapes. If you were guessing Cabernet sauvignon, you would have been nearly right; however I am referring to our Maria Noble late harvest.

This incredible wine is made from a 34 year old Weisser Riesling vineyard, and to enable us to produce it, nature must play its part. We need cool damp nights and warm days to create the ideal conditions for the growth of Botrytis cinerea, the fungus that is responsible for the beautiful concentration of the berries and the lovely honeysuckle and dried apricot flavours that you find in The Maria.

Something very exciting and promising is our Sauvignon blanc 2020 wine that has been blended and being filtered ready to be bottled in a week or two. The flavours are just out of this world and I hope you will enjoy drinking the wine just as much as we've enjoyed making it!

March Events
Unfortunately, due to the threat to public health and accompanying government guidelines surrounding COVD-19, most tastings, runs and other events for the foreseeable future have been cancelled or postponed.

This is an extremely difficult time for businesses, employers and employees countrywide, but we are hopeful that things will be back to normal as soon as possible and that we'll be able to welcome everyone back to Neethlingshof Estate soon. Support local businesses where possible, postpone events rather than cancel where possible, and stay safe.
