Introducing Team Zimbabwe 2019

Team Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe has participated at the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships for 2 years running, producing good results. This year the team will be heading back to Chambord, France to compete for one of the coveted title in the wine industry.

This year the team is made up of the following;

  • Admire Wakwa – Assistant tasting room manager at Mullineux and Leeu Family Wine Studio based in Franschhoek and in #TeamZim2018
  • Billet Magara – Tasting room manager at Paserene Wines based in Franschhoek and was in #TeamZim2018
  • Gregory Mutambe – Gregory Mutambe – Newly appointed Group Sommelier for Leeu Collection, he had a fruitful career as Head Sommelier at Twelve Apostles Hotel and regular judge of Platter Guide, Michelangelo  as well as Wine of the month club, to name a few.
  • Tawanda Marume – Founder of Expression Wines Africa based in Johannesburg.

  • Farai Magwada from Cavalli Wine Estate and Nkulu Mkwanazi (previous Reserve for TeamSA) will be the coaches of the team leading to the competition. The selection of the team was based on the results from the participation at the 2019 SAWTC.

The road to France begins now and the team has already started training and looking forward to competing at the world stage as well as bringing the trophy home.
