Through the partnership with Chenin Noir South Africa, The Court of Master Sommeliers aims to increase the participation and written exams of some of Africa’s top achieving Sommeliers. The opportunity will allow not only allow South African sommeliers to sit these exams, but will be open to the Continent and the Globe for any Sommelier looking at sitting the exams.
For Xolani Mancotywa, Creative Director and Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, the partnership is a dream come true. As an alumni of the Court of Master Sommeliers, Mancotywa understands the global positioning and opportunity that writing such exams can bring for a Sommelier. “Bringing the Court of Master Sommeliers to South Africa means we can push the envelope with the industry in making sure many more can also have access to this prestigious platform.”
The 2019 exams have been confirmed to take place from 6-8 October 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
