The year has been off to a good start and kept the team out and about with wine launches and celebrations and jumping in to be part of the harvest. Follow our time in the winelands through our photos...

Overhex International has a few aces up their sleeves, and we were very pleasantly delighted by their wines at the launch of their 2017 Survivor Wild Yeast Syrah, which we tasted alongside an interesting group of international wines from France, Australia and the USA.

Our own Sheryl Faure joined the Graham Beck harvesting team for two days to see if Pieter "Bubbles" Ferreira's friendly persona would hold under the pressures of harvest. Of course it did! She was put to work, taking tank samples and picking Pinot Noir and learned a lot about the culture at Graham Beck. A highlight was visiting the aftercare centre.

For many years now - the South African Wine industry has been honouring those who have made significant contributions to the industry.
This is done annually at the Wine Harvest Commemorative Event - held in February, at the very beautiful Groot Constantia Wine Estate, to celebrate and acknowledge the first wine made in South Africa, recorded by Jan van Riebeek as 2nd Feb 1659, only 7 years after his arrival in our beautiful country.

The Pebbles Project has many facets, one of which is their After School Club - which supports many children between the ages of 7 – 18. On Friday 14th December at their awards evening - we were treated to a number of their activities including rope skipping and ballet - showcasing just some of the many skills the children are exposed to.
The evening was very uplifting and ended with a great fun video of the staff dancing up a storm!
