Neil Ellis Wines recently donated essential items and Christmas presents to the Nora Tyers Creche in Cloetesville. The team reached out to a local creche, inquired regarding essential items and spent the morning handing out gifts and donated items to the staff and children.

The Nora Tyers Creche is a nursery school in Stellenbosch with services mainly intended to promote early childhood development. It is endorsed by the Department of Social Development and provide within a playgroup context various activities, including educational play time, song, dance and art.

“Good quality childcare has always been a priority for me as well as the business. It is a great privilege to be part of this initiative where the children and the caretakers will be able to benefit,” says Neil Ellis.

The wine company, known for producing outstanding quality wine, donated a new stove and fridge for the kitchen, plastic tables and chairs for the classrooms, building blocks and various toys. Father Christmas also paid a visit and handed out 132 age appropriate gifts to the children.

According to Margot Ellis, brand manager at the winery, there is still a lot that can be done to support the childcare facility. “At the moment, they also need paint for the outside, carpets, curtains and a lawn mover for general up keeping as well as balls, wooden blocks and other educational toys.”
