The annual Vaal River Meander Wine Route, kicks off with the official one day launch on Saturday the 23rd June 2018 with The Vaal River Wine Expo. Hosted at Stonehaven on Vaal and Riverside Sun Hotel who are located next to each other on the Vaal River, all 14 participating Vaal Wine Route venues and their wine partners, will be there on the day to give you a preview of the wines they will be featuring during the six week 2018 Vaal Wine Route.
The day starts at 12h00-midday where you will be able to meander from Stonehaven on Vaal through to Riverside Sun Hotel enjoying wine tasting, live music, interesting stalls, delectable well-priced food stalls to indulge in and an Art Exhibition featuring local artists. There are complimentary children’s play areas located at Stonehaven on Vaal as well as live Rugby on the big screens for the Rugby fans.
The R200 entrance ticket gives you access to a choice of over 200 Wines to taste with you own wine tasting glass, and a complimentary wine tasting luxury cruise on the Vaal River. Cruisers depart from both Stonehaven on Vaal and Riverside Sun Hotel for 30-minute cruises at 15-minute intervals from 12h00 till 17h00.
A Park and Ride service is available compliments of Landrover Jaguar Vereeniging where visitors can park their cars within the secured Emfuleni Park located next to Riverside Sun Hotel, and then be driven in the latest Landrover or a Jaguar vehicle to the Stonehaven entry gates at no charge.
We proudly partner with Taljaard Taxi and encourage responsible drinking. Should you use your own vehicle and you have enjoyed a little too much wine tasting, you can request a Buddy Driver from Taljaard Taxis at the gates to take you and your car safely home.
Entry gates are located at Stonehaven on Vaal only and close at 16h00 so be sure to arrive in time before the gates close.
