Eileses Capital, a San Francisco investment firm, announces its acquisition of the Warwick Wine Estate, the internationally respected South African wine farm found on the outskirts of Stellenbosch.

“The Western Cape has some of the most underappreciated, undervalued terroir in the world. Great wine begins in the vineyard. When well farmed, Stellenbosch produces fruit the equal of the best vineyards in the old and new worlds. Its soil is unique. It’s winegrowers and vintners, passionate about their craft. The region’s wine making history is centuries old. We invest here to harvest this raw potential: to make wines that will demand a much-deserved place at the world’s tables,” says Charles Marston, MD at Eileses.

Eileses will keep Warwick’s product line largely intact, while investing in the vineyards where needed, making cellar improvements, and enhancing its hospitality offering. The firm will extend Warwick’s global distribution—growing markets in Europe, North America, and Asia.

Eileses plans additional acquisitions in the region. “We have been visiting South Africa since 2002 and see the potential and opportunity here. We want to build upon this initial acquisition, ensuring our access to the best fruit and production capacity,” added Mr. Marston.
