This event is hosted at different venues on and around the Vaal River on Saturdays and Sundays up until Sunday July 30 from 12h00 until 18h00.
It is a fun way to taste great South African wines, to explore the surrounds and experience some of the other wine tasting experiences such as blind folded wine tasting, chocolate and wine pairing and a host of different dining specials. Wines are sold at cost plus 10% and can be bought directly from the venue.
There will be a wine tasting fee payable at each venue you visit, with a selection of wine from different wine farms at each venue. Every venue has at least eight wines on offer. Some venues have up to 16 wines. Wine tasting fees during the Vaal Wine Route are R20 for 8 wines, R30 for 12 wines and R40 for 16 wines. There is no need to book wine tasting tickets as the wine tasting fees are payable to the venue when you are there however it is recommended that you call and reserve a table to avoid disappointment as certain venues get filled quickly.
The Vaal River Meander Wine Route is perfect for wine connoisseurs, however, it is also for those visitors who just want to appreciate the wonderful wines that South Arica boasts. Enjoy a pleasant, well-priced outing, where one can learn in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
