South African Sommeliers Association
SASA president, Higgo Jacobs, was in attendance to motivate this inclusion.
Further good news is that Mauritius was also adopted as a full member, thus joining Morocco and South Africa in our African presence. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future we will have our own regional chapter.
For now what is clear is that SASA remains the only key for sommeliers operating in South Africa to connect with the international sommelier fraternity by means of our accepted courses and of course competing in ASI world contests.
Further news to share from Bordeaux is the announcement of the new ASI executive board, as voted in at the AGM. They are:
