The growth of the bottled wine business has lead to wine listings with a major UK retailer as well as business in the USA and Ireland. As a spin-off of this, we have recently placed a number of top end producer branded wines directly with retailers as well. This has been achieved by offering the retailers direct access to local wine producers allowing value to flow up and down the value chain. WineTrader now enters a new era with new partners - the Colors Group. Kevin Kidson, founder and partner in WineTrader, is selling his shares to Colors while Ansgar Flaatten remains on as Managing Director and co-shareholder. The new entity is called Flavors of Wine and will have access to the 14,000 TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit) container supply chain of the Colors Group. This will secure preferred access to shipping lines and the cost effectiveness and speed of their global business. The immediate focus of Flavors will be to build on the extensive international retail customer base of the Colors Group. Watch this space for some exciting new developments to be launched at Cape Wine 2008.
