As the warmth of spring touches the vineyards, they come alive with a beautiful floral display befitting the season. Our team has been hard at work preparing the vineyards for planting new vines.
Alongside this, we completed upgrades to our bottling and disgorging lines, enabling us to bring even more precision to the bottling of our upcoming vintages – a season of fresh releases is on the horizon!
We are also proud to share that Villiera has received several prestigious awards recently. Most notably, our Villiera Pithos received a Medal of Excellence for Sparkling Wine Discovery of the Year in Tim Atkin's 2024 SA Special Report.
Villiera's wine awards and ratings
Our results at the International Wine and Spirits Competition highlight the consistent performance of our Villiera Monro Brut 2017 which received 97 points and our Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2023 received 95 points. At the Fine Wine Awards, Villiera Monro Brut 2017 scored 95 points and Villiera Tradition Brut scored 91 points. At the Decanter World Wine Awards, Villiera Monro Brut received 91 points.
Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards
At the recent Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards, we achieved a Double Gold medal for our Villiera Sauvignon Blanc 2024 and Gold medals for Villiera Tradition Brut, Tradition Brut Rosé, and Villiera Merlot 2022.

We were thrilled that our 2016 Villiera Pithos Cap Classique received a Medal of Excellence for the 2024 Sparkling Wine Discovery of the Year in the prestigious 2024 Tim Atkin South Africa Special Report. Eight of our wines received excellent ratings in the report:
