The sixth Cab Franc Carnival will again take place at the beautiful Vrede en Lust Estate, located in the centre of the Cape Winelands between Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek, on Saturday 25 May from 11h00 to 16h00.
Cabernet Franc has not always received the recognition it deserves, but has built and sustained an excellent reputation in the last two decades as a single varietal. People who have discovered this beautiful Bordeaux varietal, have attended the Cab Franc Carnival every year and with the wines getting even better annually, many more will follow. This year’s Cabernet Franc Challenge was won by Mitre's Edge, but all the wines from the different producers scored extremely well in 2024 with many of these estates participating at this years’ Carnival.
Guests can look forward to tasting the wines on show while listening to the soothing sounds of Kruger & Tutu at this well-loved and classy event. The celebration will take place in the Vineyard Hall with the distinguished Simonsberg mountain providing the picture-perfect backdrop. In the event of inclement weather, we have arranged a couple of Bedouin tents, but the tasting area itself will be inside the hall.
To keep the hunger pangs at bay, LUST Bistro at Vrede en Lust will be offering an array of delectable meals and nibbles on the day, and guest will be able to redeem their R60 food voucher, included in the ticket price, at LUST. There are five dishes (Mushroom Ancini, Cajun Calamari, Roast Veg, Aged Fillet or Dark Chocolate Mousse) to choose from with the vouchers or these can be redeemed for the face value against the bill at the LUST Bistro should patrons wish to have lunch there.
A limited 450 tickets are available for this very popular and usually sold-out event, so Cabernet Franc lovers will need to make sure that they get their tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are available through Quicket and cost is R350 per person which includes entry to the Carnival, parking, a branded crystal wine glass, live music and a R60 food voucher.
