A new year of flavourful beginnings at Zevenwacht
This is a time of transformation, as ripened grapes are carefully gathered to craft wines that embody the spirit of our estate.
We are also thrilled to introduce the latest release in our 7even’s range: the vibrant and expressive 7even Shiraz Grenache 2022, previously labelled as the 7even Rood. It’s the same great wine with a new name and label.
This new addition reflects our dedication to creating approachable yet sophisticated wines that celebrate Zevenwacht's rich heritage and commitment to sustainability.
Zevenwacht 7even Shiraz Grenache 2022
The grapes for this blend originate from prime vineyard sites that face South Westerly and westerly ranging in altitude from 100m - 200m above sea level. We aimed for soft tannins and ripe dark fruits and used 500L seasoned French oak barrels to mature this wine for 12 months and to add to the complexity.
The result is a luscious wine with plums, blackberries, and pepper spice. A juicy palate of dark fruit with soft pliable tannins, supported by subtle oak spice.

2025 SRAM
The first round of the 2025 SRAM Western Cape Downhill Series kicked off at Zevenwacht Wine Estate last weekend, one of the few venues in the region where the Western Cape Downhill races are held.
Riders, support crews, and spectators gathered to enjoy the near-perfect weather and test their skills on our revamped down hill track, home to the infamous Tin Mine jump. This iconic feature challenges cyclists as they soar over the opening of a historic Tin Mine shaft, adding a unique and thrilling element to the course.
