Reyneke Wines
We're thrilled to announce that Reyneke Wines has been chosen as one of 11 global recipients of funding from The Wine Society's inaugural Climate and Nature Programme.

This prestigious program recognizes wineries committed to sustainable practices and provides financial support for projects that enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and promote long-term resilience in the face of climate change.

Reyneke's commitment to sustainability

At Reyneke Wines, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are constantly striving to minimize our environmental impact and ensure the longevity of our vineyards. The Wine Society's recognition is a true validation of our efforts and allows us to take these efforts a step further.

Our funded projects

The Wine Society has chosen to support two of our proposed sustainability initiatives:

Mulching our heritage Chenin Blanc vines

We will use the funding to implement a mulching program on 3.25 hectares of our old-vine Chenin Blanc, planted in 1976. Mulching protects these precious vines from erosion, suppresses weeds, and provides essential nutrients to the soil.

Rewilding project

A portion of our land will be dedicated to rewilding with indigenous plant species. This project fosters biodiversity, creates vital habitat for wildlife, and contributes to a healthier ecosystem.

A collaborative effort for a sustainable future

We are incredibly grateful to The Wine Society for their forward-thinking approach and their commitment to supporting sustainable practices.

We look forward to sharing our progress on these projects and continuing our journey towards a more sustainable future.
