Winter has settled over the Simonsberg, bringing crisp mornings, misty vineyards, and the welcome promise of another exceptional vintage in the making. While the vines enjoy their well-deserved winter rest, the work behind the scenes is as busy as ever.
In the cellar, the excitement continues as our winemaking team is currently blending the 2022 vintage of Ansela van de Caab. This flagship Bordeaux-style blend is crafted with patience and precision, with each component carefully selected to create a wine that reflects both the vintage and Muratie's timeless character.
It's also bottling week, with two of our most anticipated wines making their way into bottle, the Martin Melck Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve and The Story. These wines represent the culmination of years of dedication in the vineyard and cellar, and we look forward to sharing the new vintages with you in the months to come.
Join us during the week for our popular Burger Special. Enjoy a delicious Muratie Beef Burger paired with a glass of Melck's Blended Red. It's the perfect excuse to gather with friends or take a midweek break in the winelands.
Our new winter menu embraces the comforting flavours of the season. Look out for delicious additions including potato croquettes, baked mini camembert, bobotie spring rolls, and pumpkin fritters. Returning favourites such as our slow-cooked lamb shank and traditional Karoo afval continue to warm hearts and satisfy hearty winter appetites.
